269 This is undoubtedly one of the best 15 1/2 minutes I have ever invested in music. Considering where they started, I could never have seen this evolution happening. They have taken an evolutionary leap in this album, discovering another layer of depth to throw into the mix without muddying the waters. A new stage of Chrome Ghost that offers what you want from them while also taking you down new roads you weren’t expecting to travel along. A worthwhile journey! Favorite track: The Whip.

Further straying from the light, Shallows is a companion piece to the Reflection Pool EP. Two songs, wading further into self-exploration, finding little good to be shared.

This EP was a bittersweet experience, and the air of frustration and doubt is a driving force behind the songs.
