Ed OCasey More than jus another pretty face, this follow-up to Chrome Ghost’s debut hits all the right notes. It continues their push to write melodically heavy, mournful music. The juxtaposition of bereaved vocalisms and a wall of guitar/bass/drums leave the listener in an emotionally confused liminal space that recalls grief’s sentimental bewilderment.
Favorite track: Mist In The Clearing.

MindOverFour Massive heaviness from a great new band that fuses Neurosis-y epic doom with very beautiful and melodic vocals that give way into tortured screams. A progressive leap forward from their excellent first album. Favorite track: Rose Water Drowning.

Further expanding the quiet/loud dynamic, with bigger vocal harmonies, heavy riffs, and thicker production than previously achieved, Reflection Pool is a 17 minute trek through shallow moonlit waters.

Lyrics inspired by the image of an overgrown and decaying garden scene express themes of acceptance in the face of the hopeless, gazing into dim reflections.
